Parade doesn't sound like a W&L record.

.

Yeah, it's not like they co-wrote at least two of its songs and performed on most of the tracks.

Actually, the problem isn't with Prince, it's with all of us.

We live in a rapid-fire information overload society right now especially when it comes to entertainment. We're not as patient as we used to be.

These things take time to be done right.

What a load of rubbish! Its got nothing to do with being impatient, but everything to do with being FED UP with all the teasing. Just take a look around this site, and it's obvious more and more people are getting tired with the childish antics. WE ARE FUCKING ADULTS, NOT TEENY-BOPPERS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN HANG ON HIS EVERY WORD

He's been banging on about this album for months now. IMO i don't think he has any faith in it. He rarely played any of the supposed tracks during recent shows (maybe i'm wrong - too lazy right now to even check that.)

I don't know why ppl still expect a classic to come out of him. For several years now the music has been sub-standard. And 20TEN was poor by ANYONE'S standards, let-alone Prince.

Prince needs to grow up, a long with some of his fans who still think it's cool to be teased and fed BS

Why assume he's playing some type of game? I mean if youre going to assume anything why not assume he simply hasn't been ready to release the album yet and truly felt he needed to promote it more so that its not a missed opportunity to maximize sales? To me the latter assumption makes much better business sense than the former.

Change it one more time..

Prince should have signed with a major label last year instead of kobalt (seems like he wasn't pleased with them cuz they didn't promote his stuff enough) then the album might would have been out by now, maybe released around the new girl/superbowl and London shows.

As much as I want him to release a new album, I really don't mind if he doesn't, as he has released so much great music already that his legacy is sealed for posterity.

Just reading this while I listen to Parade, makes me think with an album as good as Parade, why does he need to even release anything else. And thats with one Parade quality album, Prince has at least 5 at that level and 5 more not far behind it. As its a girl's group, I suggest we all listen to Parade with its heavy Wendynlisa sound and compare any new record to that, it just won't match the quality of that.

Got to go "Mountains" just came on.

So true!!!

These endless demands and expectations are ridiculous given the amount of mindblowing music Prince has produced and played in the last 35 years.

He could just tour with all his obscure stuff the next 5 years and I'd be happy!

...every night another symphony...

Here are my (unqualified) assumptions:

January and February was THE (near) perfect time to release it. Its now April...and still NADA.

All the messages about it being made/waiting for the perfect time is his way of still trying to see how much interest (beyond his dwindling fanbase) there was/is.

His limited attention span probably now means he has lost any real interest in it, and it will just pop up one of these days and then it will enter most fans' bottom 5 albums.

THe only reason why i'm a little pissed now about it is because it may see a vinyl release...and i effing love vinyl. So i am now more eager to get a copy..hence the increasing fustration

Wow.. I understand the criticism and frustration but we all got to remind ourselves that Prince is the most unpredictable person on the planet. Whether or not an album arrives officially, we will probably hear it on a bootleg.

Get over it already, can't you just listen to the old albums? I'm satisfied with Prince's 80s / early 90s work and that's Prince for me, that's his sound, his image, his persona, his genius and everything. Anything he'll present next is either going to be the same as his previous work, or bland, or some funk arrangement with poor vocals and simple lyrics, what y'all want? Prince to do another Purple Rain? I actually wish he'd stop the nonsense he's at now and celebrate the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain.

So you're tired of waiting? But not impatient..... OK then. lol lol lol lol

The PR material released at the beginning of the year said the album was coming in April. So the wait was always going to be at least this long.

I honestly don't know why everyone's so worked up. It's not about Prince. It says more about all of you and your incessant need to consume, consume, consume. Some of you are being negative already about an album you haven't even heard.

It's almost as if you just want something to bitch and whine about.

Where's the love? Where's the positivity?

How about you all stop complaining. The album will come out when Prince is ready, and you all need to get a life and stop throwing your toys out of the pram because it's not here yet.

Basically:
