That was a nice surprise to see an Orger. I always enjoy Prince so I'm not surprised about loving the show. I'm charmed, I'm sure. lol

To tell the truth, the best part of the show was the interview and Liv's performance. Prince was underwhelming. It looks as if he doesn't have the funk in his heart anymore. I'm still a fan, but I'm being real with how I feel about this performance. Whack!

Great show! Nice to see Prince relaxed and playful. Liv was awesome.

But.....still no release date for Plectrum? What up wit dat?!

Totally agree. From the UK. Set my alarm for 3.55 to watch it. My take on this after attending 5 UK shows in 2 weeks. Release the album now. Another wasted promo opportunity. Also he talked crap when he said now he wasn't under contract pressure he could take his time releasing albums. Everyone knows Warners tried to slow him down by allowing him to release one a year & making him trim triples to doubles & doubles to singles!!
Wouldn't it be awesome if he released another 3 cd (Lotusflower) set with Kobalt??
1.3EG
2.Prince (Breakdown, Breakfast, Groovy Potential, Ain't Gon Miss U, Same Page Different Book)
3.Liv Warfield

Tht was probably one of his best interviews. Loved Funk N Roll! And Liv was amazing. I just wish he played more from the new album. But another good one in my book. He clearly wanted to show off his band.

Love God and I shall 4ever Love u

Loved the whole thing! I loved how relaxed and happy Prince was. My favorite parts were Prince's relationship intervention, and that spectacular version of Mutiny. The whole shebang exuded nothing but pure CLASS!

Sorry to hear about your experience....seems that Prince has a thing for fiascos that makes me wonder if that's just his default "way" of being.

I agree with this! It was very unprofessional. I've been to the Arsenio Show several times and the priority way of doing it works way better. But this was a SPECIAL show! That EVERYBODY wanted to attend. It was only 200 seats. The 100 VIP guest list is what messed everything up. Also the "Purple Army" people. I never recognised any of them from any Prince shows. hmmm

Say what? LOL. I was wondering during the show if any Orgers actually made it on air......this is so suspect, LOL

Anyone else who watched the "live" version of American Idol tonight and also noticed the previously recorded Prince (Esperanza) comments make the correlation between all the comments about "musicial arrangements" on both shows?

pity he didnt divided the show in 2 parts. ONe with 3rd eye girl and the other half with the npg

with 3rd eye girl:

Pretzelbodylogic ( his NEW single ) , The breakdown, funkandroll

with the npg:

Big city, the unexpected ( together with Liv)....

would be an exellent promotion of his cd and upcoming summer tour...

Princesiscool: Hey there, remember on AI tonight how they kept harping on the kids about who did the musicial arrangements? This was for Tom, Majesty and a few others I think. It was interesting to see Prince talk about AI having bad musicial arrangements.

Bluu

That was wicked fun. smile

.

OMG Prince TALKED. Awesome interview. Always illuminating to see what's going on in that brilliant mind of his. He spoke well (of course) and comfortably on the show. I was diggin' the purple outfit. The brothah looked-ded good. SO handsome.

.

Loved all the performances. I like how P. injected what sounded like 80's pop/rock into "She's Always In My Hair". "Mutiny" was hot, too, and I enjoyed hearing “FUNKNROLL” for the first time. Kudos to NPG and Liv Warfield for a stellar performance. The song was beautiful, as was Liv and the back-up singers. They and 3EG did the Man justice.

.

Very cool that Prince flew back to the States from London to perform on Arsenio, granting his long-time friend so much face-time and taking over the show with a royal house party.

.

Going off on a tangent here--I think I prefer 'Purple Empire' to 'Purple Army'. In my mind an empire displays and leverages strength in numbers, in the cohesiveness of its identity, and distinction as a culture. Plus I get a kick out of thinking of the Prince fan community as its own nation state. cool )

.

Just outstanding. Bravo Prince.

He's pushing 60, he can't be doing the splits etc anymore...like at the dude, he's aged (don't think the look helps either).

As for Bruno Mars...just one in a long line of people put on a pedestal for no good reason.
