LoveSexy conundrum

If Prince wants us to hear the whole LoveSexy album as one track, why did he create lulls in between songs like they are separate tracks?

I don't think he wanted it judged as one track, per se. Rather as one whole message, as opposed to a collection of singles with different vibes and messages.

That's just my interpretation of it.

He decided to do it as an after thought. It's a trick of the technology. He knew it would get people talking, just like the cover. I've spoken with a few people who have worked with him as engineers and they all say the same thing. He records all the time and he decides to assemble tracks into an album later. Lovesexy was recorded and put together quickly. One song was already recoded and scheduled to appear on the Black Album and Eye Know was written years before with different lyrics. This album was not conceived in advance as a complete work, it was assembled from many things that already existed for other things and in other forms and the one track, "artistic" statement was forced onto what was actually nothing more than a collection of tracks that where deemed to have a loose theme fitting the concept.
