I have an LM-1 and a Linn Drum. I'm actually about to sell this LM-1 as soon as I get it back from Bruce Forat. I bought another LM-1 with the front-panel tuning mod, so this one doesn't get much use.

I've re-created a few '80s songs before. Here's my version of Nasty Girl on the LM-1.

Nice. Where and when were those photos taken?

I have a LinnDrum... Always wanted an OB-xa (or OB-8).

I always thought he used either the OB-X or the Oberheim Four Voice on 1999. Seems like the OB-Xa was already out in 1981 and the sessions for the album took place for the most part during 1982, so yeah, it could have been that one, considering how he usually upgraded to the latest models.

I managed to snag the one in this picture on eBay a few years ago for $3500. It had a few issues like the open hi-hat trigger not working. The last couple LM-1s listed on eBay went for around $5000, but they were serviced by Bruce Forat beforehand, so they were in tip-top mechanical shape.

Bruce just fixed the open hi-hat and replaced the sliders on this one (you didn't get any sound unless the sliders were in full volume position, and sometimes I had to jiggle the sliders to hear the specific drum). He fixed a couple other issues, too, and the repairs cost me around $800. It should be in perfect mechanical condition now when I go to sell it.
