Prince and The Cars I really LOVE the first 2 albums by The Cars and I was really surprised when P covered Let's Go This Year: I had no idea he was i nto their stuff as well. he covered let's go in 2007 at the o2 and earlier than that too. there is a new wave influence in some of the early 80s stuff so it's no surprise really | |

Yeah, Prince's early 80s sound had a strong New Wave vibe running through it. A little from DM, a lot from Controversy and a little bit into 1999.
If you listen to The Cars music, you will hear the common threads. And NO I am not saying that Prince and The Cars sound alike.
