Is Prince morphing into his own symbol?

I think once the fro reaches critical mass he'll take to the stage wearing a rubber flotation ring around his waist and winkle pickers and when he wields the guitar the transformation will be complete.... Only then will we see.....the dawn!

I predict the Dawn will be when Prince rids himself of the symbol completely and all that's left standing there is Prince (whole & complete) with or without a guitar.

In a lot of ways 'symbol' is more prince then prince is.

Well his dissociation from the name enabled to express himself as a total spiritual being, free of titles, words, and association. Just visual moniker. "Breaking the chains" meant much more than just splitting from WB. The fact he still identifies with it is an attribute of that, although he still replies to his role as Prince.

Enabled him to express himself as a total spiritual being? Really? Well, I guess that all depends on your definition of a "spiritual being". Of the darkness? Or, of the light?

*

If your definition consists of being emaciated (very thin & not looking like oneself), heavy makeup, emulating a pimp, living lies & fairy tales & looking emasculated, then I guess I agree with you. However, those characteristics lend themselves to the dark side, not the light. He didn't break any chains. He was imprisoned in his own dungeon, living a lie & pretended to be free. All that happened was, he lost Prince & went to the dark side. Anyone with discernment can see through all that hoopla.

*

You don't have to agree with me. That's fine. We can agree to disagree.

*

IMO, Prince hasn't experiencd his Emancipation yet. That's yet to come.

God created him as Prince & I MUCH prefer Prince over the symbol. heart

Thanks Yoda. That's all a bit intense. As far as trying to define spiritual. It's such a non descript and vague word that it can mean whatever anyone wants it to mean. Most who claim to be spiritual can't even elaborate as to its meaning when pressed. Seems to cover views from extreme religious fundamentalism to just liking trees at dusk.

Being a spiritual being doesnt mean anything magical, rather just being yourself and expressing yourself freely. You have to conquer the negetive to be positive, so negetive isnt exactly evil.

Anyone who has had any moving point in their lives know they have to go through it, you cant ignore things.Plus thats not solely what I meant in it being positive. The stress of being held back is what caused it rather than it being the a result of the switch. To be free you dont automatically become it, you have to fight for it, just like anything else in life.

Hey said hey, I'm going to try to do what I want to do. Thats more honest than anything. I'd hate to be restrained to an image by people. You might think it was terrible but it was a great time in his career. Also his appearence has always been something else, so I dont think heavy makeup and 'looking like a Pimp' is too much of a stretch compared to all the mans put on. Plus the cane was most likely there for the hip problems he started devolping later hes always had.
