Do we know if Prince is actually going to be doing vocals or is it going to be basically a side-project album by the band?

If it's a 3rd Eye Girl album as most people expect, no we don't know that and it probably isn't the case.

Yes,there will be a new album released in February.

Think New Power Soul album with guitars.

You will also be subjected to Shelby J & Liv Warfield on 3 tracks.

Doug E Fresh appears on the title cut but its not half as bad as you would assume.

The only tracks you will be familiar with are "Fix Ur Life Up" and "Funk N Roll".

NPG Horns all over the place.

You have been warned.

So in other words, it'll be a Masterpiece! lol

Actually I take back that "yikes." This sounds like it'll be incredibly entertaining in a trainwreck sort of way.

Didn't he say in an interview that Plectrum Electrum was mostly instrumental with two tracks with vocals one of them being Live Out Loud and that it came out of the three piece jamming.

In which case It sounds like it's going to be a cross between The Undertaker and N.E.W.S

If it's stuff that was recorded around the same time as Extraloveable, Boyfriend, Groovy Potential, etc., it's more likely the Hornheadz.

Hopefully Michael....although I wouldn't mind also having Big City on that (on which the new horn players play...). But yeah, if Extraloveable, Boyfriend, Groovy Potential were "outtakes" I cannot imagine how good the other tracks you worked on together sound like...

but if the title track is "plectrum electrum", how is doug e fresh on it?

it's an instrumental track, isn't it?

/

the tracks they've previewed this far and all that's been released last

year still suggest 2 different projects to my ear. we'll wait and see.
