the internet is burning wit beyonce and this new visual cd she just released out of the blue. im not fan of beyonce so i cant get excited and the whole time im thinking now what if prince had of done something like this.

prince is my all time favorite and if he release a cd like this i would fall out first then download it and enjoy every minute of it.prince is a free artist with his own recording studio i think a visual cd with videos would be great from prince.

I doubt that anyone except for his diehard fans would really care, unless the songs are very catchy, well written and tight. Keep in mind that Beyonce has a huge following and she´s in the spotlight all the time, whether it´s gossip news, movies, tours or an album.

The younger generation of today doesn´t even know who Prince is or was, they barely remember his well known hits due to his absence on Youtube or the internet in general, so I doubt anyone would care.

Which is sad, considering he is one of the greatest musicians ever.

But I think it would still be a good idea, a bit reminiscent of the Madhouse albums or the idea of how he originally wanted to release the Black Album, without much fanfare or media hype.

Unfortunately,these days,Prince never comes up with an effective promotional strategy for his new music.He spent this whole year releasing songs randomly,occasionally releasing a video to go with it.I doubt that 2014 is gonna be any different.

The internet is burning because it's an artist of Beyonce's popularity who did it. To all intents and purposes, all of Prince's records in the 00s other than a couple have been released this way!

And of course, this is kinda sorta what Prince was up to with the Black album, similar idea in a way.

If you believe that Beyonce does anything "out of the blue" then... Everything she's ever done is calculated and planned out in detail. The only difference with this was hse kept it under wraps instead of blathering on about it to the media. There was a team of people behind this project it was hardly the "whim" project it's being hailed as.

All Valid and GREAT points! Prince should drop vault unreleased new/old studio/live work on I-tunes and his website. WAIT he did this already!! Next time Professionally filmed please

Beyonce dropped a load (hopefully a retirement present), P is givin' us a little gas.

With that said even with PRINCE's lowered limelight....he still outshines all the "Stars"

I agree. Beyonce's and her label and team had this planned for a while.
