The shops in my town aren't carrying this. A couple offered to order it for me, but, I can do that myself.

Just ordered it from Comic Flea Market, both covers, the exclusive seen here and the regular cover with different artwork which has the Purple Rain era look.

If anyone's interested:

Prince: The Latest Icon Memorialized in Comic Book Form

Credit: Bluewater Productions

*Prince in comic book form – now that is something to look forward to.

The Purple One is the newest icon to be celebrated in animation by Bluewater Productions, one of the top independent production studios of comic books, young adult books and graphic novels. The new comic book, chronicling the life of the music icon, is titled: Fame Prince and will be released this week and available in print and digital.

“Writing Fame: Prince was like reliving my teenage years. For me, the music scene wasn’t defined by Michael Jackson, despite his success with Thriller. The 80’s, and music in general for me, were defined by Prince,” says writer Michael Frizell. “He takes chances in his music, doesn’t sell out as an artist in order to make money, and still ends up on top. To this day, his music speaks to me. I hope I was able to bring some of his power to the comic page through my script.”

Frizell writes the 32-page comic book with art by Ernesto Lovera. The comic book will feature two collectible covers by famed artist Iordan Terziiski and Ernesto Lovera. In the past Bluewater has created comic books featuring Madonna, Michael Jackson, Drake, 50 Cent, Beyonce, Adele, Cher and more. They will also pen upcoming biography comic books on Sharon Osbourne and Johnny Depp.

Bluewater? I believe bluewater has a license to reprint the Revolutionary Comics line, which includes the "Rock N Roll Comics" series. in 1990, Revolutionary published a Prince bio comic that was awesome, they should reprint that. Granted, it's 20 years out of date, but it's better than what I've seen of this new one.

I'm wondering if he has something to do with it. I know it doesn't seem likely, and I'm not saying I'm convinced... I'm wondering.

hmmm

Consider:

-I checked to see what other celebrities have been featured in Blue Water Comics' Fame line and ALL of them were currently popular... except Prince. Surely the whole Breakfast Can Wait thing wasn't enough to bump him up to the main stream.

(see: http://www.bluewaterprod..../fame.php)

-In 1990 & 1991 he worked out the deal with DC' Pirannha Press (via WB) for the Alter Ego & 3 Chains O' Gold comics. They were officially authorized.

-He's doing a sitcom on FOX. How is this worse?

hmm

I don't know... Just wondering.

Okay. Just read the thing. No way did Prince have anything at all to do with this. At least I hope not. It's so bad it's hilarious. lol

It's only value is to add to the collection with the other three and comedy. Comedy gold.

It only goes up to the 90's, hope there's not a sequel... wink

Now that was one cool comic book!

There's a great documentary out about the story behind Revolutionary comics I watched last weekend. Well worth viewing if you can find it. Here's the trailer...

https://www.google.com/ur...-cDZVWoi3g

Trailer (Unauthorized and Proud of It)

Title: The Story of Rock 'n' Roll Comics Trailer (Unauthorized and Proud of It)
Description: A chronicle of Todd Loren, the controversial publisher of unauthorized comic book biographies of rock stars. This documentary mixes animation and eerie home video with numerous interviews, including rock stars Alice Cooper and Mojo Nixon, comic book publishers Denis Kitchen and Gary Groth, and graphic artists Mary Fleener, Dennis Worden, and Robert Williams. A life-long music fan, Todd Loren founded his comic book company in 1989 with the intention of creating histories of rock and roll performers that were like graphic novels. An enigmatic figure, he was a brilliant businessman and a First Amendment crusader, but he was also known for creating legions of enemies through his insufferable behavior. Rock ‘n’ Roll Comics was largely derided by others in the comic book industry and hated by the music business for its “Unauthorized and Proud of It” motto and attitude, yet it was Loren who fought the good fight and won a landmark court case that established First Amendment protections for comic books. At the height of his success Loren was fatally stabbed. His murder remains unsolved, though clues point to serial killer Andrew Cunanan. The film is much more than the story of Todd Loren’s upstart company or a mere murder mystery. It is a look at the strange interplay of those twin totems of teen rebellion, rock music and comic books. With original Rock ‘n’ Roll Comics art and music by Elvis Costello and Mojo Nixon, the film stands as a celebration of youthful exuberance and imagination.
