How much 2 tour?

Prince has toured alot. But never really has that amazing eye candyed of a show. I mean with lasers, tons of lighting, HD screens, props, and inlflateables. Was some of The Purple Rain Tour but SIgn O The Times was his biggest. Also The Superbowl performance. Anybody the know the statistic s and costs of Prince's tours?

What I really want oknow is how much a big tour would cost. In a stadium with a big stage, plasma screens, lasers, pyro, flame blasters, tons and tons of lighing, props, curains, and inflateables. Runway and B-stages included too. That's excluding bus and insurace. Just for the set and lighting. What's the cheapest?

Working up a purple sweat.

The Lovesexy tour was at the time and probably still (if adjusted for inflation) his most expensive stage production ever.

Most likely unless some company fronted the money or sponsored the the entire tour, he will never spend big $ again like he did in back in the 80s. Since about 2000, he has really kept the costs down on his tours. Because the less spent there means he gets to keep more in his pocket.

The most recent symbol stage set up (2007-2011) was his best chance at doing a full all out big expensive production show. And while it was ok, it was not to the full extent of what you are wanting, or in comparison to what some other big acts are now doing on the road.

Personally, I don't need all the bling. Just Prince & his geetar.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Personally I like his small club performances a lot. And those don't need any adornment.

But if he's going to do big stadiums, I guess he has to meet the current standard for those kind of shows. And that's a big investment. VJ's, Artwork, designers, decoration team, extra lugagge, large crew to build it up and down and move around.

I have no idea what the costs are, but my bet is, that it's not cheap.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

His prince stage is all he needs. It's massive and does exactly what he needs it to do.

It's iconic, and screams "I am here".

Diamonds and Pearls tour was a big set. There was the lighting rig which was the Symbol shape and it moved throughout the show. There were HD screens, pyrotechnics, a flying bed, a diaphynous curtain back drop and er... rollerskates.

Pyro, Prince doesn't use pyrotechnics. He'd squeel at them.

Working up a purple sweat.

I know the band was still new but what a mess that song is. A sloppy, noisy mess.
