"Detroit! My name is Prince and I've come to play with you."

That's how Prince started the Purple Rain Tour, in the D.

I was only 14 and no matter how much I begged, pleaded, cried, nor held my breath, my mother wouldn't let me go with my older cousins. And I STILL haven't seen it!!!

I kind of have the same history except the concerts I was denied were the Detroit Hit and Run show and Lovesexy. I had 2 different babysitters at the time offer to take me to these shows. After the birthday show they were hanging around Hart Plaza and Prince pulls up in his white car to drop someone off and they snapped his picture. I still have it somewhere. He is wearing the tuxedo from Girls and Boys video. I didn't make it to his concert until I was able to take myself which was the Act I concert @ the Fox.

4th day of November, we need a Purple High.I was able to see Prince on November 5 1984.The girl I took looked like Vanity and was 3yrs older than me. Had fun but was in nose bleed seats.Great show anyways.Had a change to go to another show that week with a girl asking me out that looked like Apollonia. Turned her down since I was seeing the other girl.1st girl didn't work out after 6mo. Second girl started to date and we been married for 23yrs now.
