Interactive before Endorphinemachine...why not?

What was it about Interactive being tracked before Endorphinemachine in one of the early Gold Experience drafts that Prince didn't like? Having been quoted as saying they didn't work back to back? Interactive gives a far better 1-2 punch for the opening of the album than Pussy Control does...personally Pussy Control doensn't qualify as a GE track let alone the opener. Interactive could have been a wild opener...Classic Prince funnk and rock with the whole internet revolution taking hold around that time...should have been left as the opener without question.

I believe I heard that Prince felt they were too similar, but don't quote me. Hopefully someone else can either confirm or deny that. Personally, I feel Interactive would've been the perfect album opener.

It's said in the Crystal Ball liner notes that P didn't feel them working back 2 back IIRC. Interactive was the LOGICAL opener to TGE. I love P Control and it's a wonderful opener as well, but Interactive with its NPG Operator intro and interlude made perfect sense with the album's concept. The songs are somewhat similar in style but I think they work back to back. Prince didn't feel that. So sad so bad sad
