That would only be true if the master copy was stolen..... My guess is that a reference copy was "stolen" also it doesn't mean something was physicaly stolen maybe just another copy was made

There is at least one boot recording that uses a video that was actually stolen from a camera. (Pussy Control + Letitgo from March 1995)

I have seen 1 minute -or so, IIRC- of the music video to Pussy Control..

Never knew there was a video for Letitgo, (Other than a compilation video with clips from other music videos..)..

Or, are you talking about live performances...

for exMPLE --DC 1981 shot by his people -- not an example- 1st ave 83 pro shot....

Yeah I heard about that one and if that is true (which IIRC was a very trustworthy source) that would actually be one he didn't have.......

Oh unless it was being shot multicammera and had a seperate link to a vision mixer (which could be possible at paisley park but not likely), In which case only the in cammera safety copy would be stolen,.

But yeah that would be one of the rare ones I guess where he would have to buy the bootleg to watch it back

Those I think were obtained from a band/crew member that was given to copies to watch for rehearsals
