Guilty! When SOTT came out, there was no song like Housequake. Now you can hear a lot of copy's. But in that time there simply was no song like Housequake.

I love it, but I usually only listen to it when I jam to the whole SOTT part 1.

There is nothing polite about "Housequake" whatsoever & that's not meant in a bad way either. I remember being 13 years old when I 1st heard it. I had spent the night over a friend's house in New Jersey & we were coming over the Ben Franklin Bridge heading back towards Philadelphia when all of a sudden this crazy sound noise emerged from the radio. My friends parents simultaneously reached for the volume button & BOOM: "Shut Up Already, Damn"

Already a huge Prince at the time, I had never heard "Prince" using the "Camille" vocal technique & asked them "who is this"?

His mother looked at me as if she wanted to choke the shit outta me for asking that question, but remembered that I wasn't her son. Her reply simply put "Prince"

My life was changed forever at that point & my only gripe about the track is it lacks depth/bottom with the way it was mixed. It is very funky til this day but sounds hollow.

And with Tony M rapping "Housequake, we pumpin the Housequake yo, whoooo!!!!, 12 inches of non stop quake in Jim Crows ass, getting funky with the Jughead quake, push the quake, Yo babeee!!! its the housequake"

And then maximum annoyance through a Dougie sample on top "House quake - Smooth can you teach me how to dougie, yo know because all the bitches love my HOUSEQUAKE!"

Sorry just in a silly mood today.
