Many folk seem to have a problem interpreting ML. I've always thought it simple. There's certainly nothing overly cryptic, bar the imagery of the chorus, which is still pretty easy to decipher. It gives an insight into Prince's insecurities. He hasn't really done that in years.

I'm glad to see others come to the defense of this song's lyrics. I certainly can't tell steakfingers he's wrong because opinions are opinions, but I've always thought this song had some of Prince's very best lyrics.

That opening line says so much and nothing all at once: Good intentions, creative frustration, loneliness, insignificance, resignment, peacefulness. I love that line and I love the whole song, glad he's revisiting it.
