I just thought of something else that would have made the movie better. After beating The Time's ass with "Still Would Stand All Time" (?!?) the Kid should have looked up in the sky and seen the smiling figures of Aura, his father, and Billy staring down at him. Would have given the movie a "Jedi" feel.

or what about seeing a MASSIVE appolonia in thw sky with her big ol titties hanging out??

They could have done a "Ghostbusters" thing with Apples storming through Minneapolis like the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man. She could have picked up the Kid and dropped him in Lake Minnetonka.

Little known fact about Graffiti Bridge. Brown Mark actually has more lines in GB than he did in Purple Rain...and he is not even in the movie!

This is an allusion to how Purple Rain woefully ignored the acting talents of Brown Mark. I read somewhere where he only got four seconds of major screen time and no lines in the movie. Other than a well executed eye roll, his thespianic talents are completely misused. Meanwhile, Wendy and Lisa are give pages and pages of dialogue. Jerome's mirror is more fleshed out than the enigma that is Brown Mark.

Have you guys ever noticed that,in many ways, this movie is alot like the 1980 flop musical 'Xanadu' lol

In that film,Olivia Newton John plays a muse/spiritual guide.

In GB,Ingrid Chavez plays an angel/spiriritual guide.

Both films center around a nightclub.

In both films, the lead male character wants to be with the angel/muse/spiritual guide, but for obvious reasons, she can't be with him (in a romantic sense).

Both films feature the male lead character in distress, and the angel/spiritual guide/muse comes into his life,to help him.

That's Prince's best performance scene in the movie.

"Tick,Tick,Bang" is the complete opposite disbelief I was embarassed for Prince when I saw it.

But you can't truly appreciate the lyrics of a song until the artist pantomimes them for you.

Trying to recreate the who city of Minneapolis on a soundstage didn't help.

And as nice as it was for Prince to let a group of third graders build and design the actual bridge in the movie, it was just hard to take it seriously upon actual inspection.

I think Morris sums the entire movie up when he gets Jerome to help him up the side of that bridge due to his Stacy Adams slippin' and slidin' all ova the place.

This is Grafitti Bridge for me.

I went thru a weird phase once where I watched it over & over again for about a week. Seriously. Really dunno why I tortured myself like that looking back. Maybe cos it was the only prince DVD I owned at the time??
I think I was hoping to eventually find some secret hidden meaning in it or something but let me just save everyone the time & pain: There is nothing to be found in that shoddy excuse for a sequel! I know and i have the mental scars to prove it.. If anything it actually gets WORSE because the more you watch the more bad things u notice!!

And thats a great example of why the movie is so bad, how the hell can such a crap song win any kind of battle lol

i watch the film every now and again i just fast forward any scene that Morris isn't in, and watch the songs well that is apart from the embarrassing tick tick bang and Still Would Stand All Time

Awesome soundtrack!!!!

Wonder how it would go as a stage show - they have made Shrek and Xanadu as stage productions, could Grafitti Bridge translate and be improved, though there must be no mention of it being the follow up to Purple Rain.
