It isn't on any Prince / NPG album and I'm unaware of any unreleased NPG 1993 recording of the song as a cover: http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ain_(song)

ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

It's a Funkadelic song on the "One Nation Under a Groove" album. Eddie Hazel is the guitarist and he's mighty tasty. Good listening.

Actually, it's originally from an earlier Funkadelic album also called Maggot Brain. The version on ONUAG is a live recording featuring Mike Hampton (Eddie had left the band by then) which I don't believe was included on the initial release (I may be wrong about that though).

The live version was included on the original vinyl LP release of ONUAG as a bonus 7" single slid inside the album.

He did perform it during at least two of his 3121 after show gigs in Vegas. I used to have two different versions of it from an unsorted 3121 Vegas compilation

Are you sure? I haven't listened to everything I have from then (and I don't have it available), and I didn't find any reference to it on PrinceVault, but I'd be interested in hearing it. I found several references for "One Nation Under a Groove" and Psychoticbumpschool (if we stretch out to Bootsy's Rubber Band) during that run.

What I still wanna hear is Cosmic Slop.

I tend to find the version on ONUAG more fun to listen to.

Plus it doesn't have a scary album cover.

I mean, when you said "just coz you haven't heard it.....", you made it sound like you're fully aware of its existence because you have encountered it yourself. But, please, do tell us about how well the musician's played on this track you've never heard confused

A lot of his albums are filled with covers, right?

So, why not another cover by him?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

A lot? Filled? Top of my head, I can only think of four albums that feature covers and only one of those has more than one.
