those songs mentioned above as they were played over PA at a Dakota party) was only

2 minutes and a bit. So it was only the beginning of the song. Now we have the complete

song that clocks in at 6 minutes.

Personally I like 3rdEyeGirl more. Real music by real musicians. Maybe even sometimes the small minute imperfections of a live band make it what it is. Still, I would like it if Prince embraced electronica and just go all out synth pop or NIN. This track is funky, still for me nothing beats a band.

You're not alone in that sentiment. "Real Music By Real Musicians" has been his mantra to the music industry for 10 years and he does bullshit DJ sampler sets at shows, and uses digital production methods that make the music sound processed and humanless. On one hand, he says he doesn't want to go back to the 80s sound and relive past glories and he makes 20TEN. I hope he goes forward with the 3rd Eye Girl album and get back to recording music with minimal overdubs.

I don't think it would be from the upcoming album because wasn't that album announced as a 3EG album and this track is not 3EG and not a 3EG sound. Also, why sell a track from a forthcoming album without any marketing/hype and on an obscure website when he just signed with Kobalt? Makes no sense. But I could be wrong, what do I know.

Just thinking out loud, what if Prince sells the 3EG project through Kobalt and his music through the 3EG website. Now that would be Prince logic, right? Lol

I was not very excited about this news. The last release was the first that I did not purchase and I have been collecting since 1984. I didn't want to comment on the last release as there was a lot of negative posts here already and I didnt want to get put off my favourite musician.

Ain't gonna miss U....has all the sounds that I like, funky little number, am pleased we are back to this style.

PS I like rock music too and saw Muse and their electro rock live two weeks ago, they are masters at that and hope that the 3rd Eye material is not the way foreward as the sounds are all wrong and the vocals sound at breaking point.

My laptop remembered my log in name and password for 3rd Eye and I pressed purchase and then download link immediately appeared after payment so was very straighforward process. However, it would be good to know what you are buying beforehand so it was good to hear the song on the radio link, thanks for that.

Does anyone think that the order number #31016 mean downloads in total from the site for all teh available purchased?

Good point and I agree about the 'sample' being clever.

As others have said it sounds a bit like an NPGMC track but the Bob George vox takes it up a notch for me.

This and Breakfast Can Wait are more my cup of tea than Fixurlifeup, and I'm looking forward to hopefully hearing 'The Breakdown' song which folk speak highly of.

I bought it, but it won't be getting a lot of play. No melody or catchy hook...just far too many random sample sounds and over a broken beat for my liking. Not my kind of track.
