What internet only single/song would you like to see have a proper release?

This question came to me yesterday on the way home. I was listening to my NPGMC files and started to think about how some of these tracks/songs would be great for a proper cd release. One song in particular was "When I Lay My Hands On U." I really like that song and think it would fit great on an album.

I would love to hear the song reworked with real drums (like he performed it at Montreux).

What about u guys? What internet songs would u like to see get a proper release?

It'd be nice to have all the NPGMC files in proper lossless, or at the least a cd or lossless download option for the tracks on Choc Invasion, Slaughter and Xpectation.

When eye lay my hands on u is one of his best songs and I consider a classic song and was happy to hear it get the full treatment in Montreux. Most of the NPGMC internet releases sound "demo-ish."

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

"Vavoom" would be my pick.

Agreed! And the duet with Angie Stone, U Make My Sun Shine
Empty Room is another good one.

They really do. When I was listening to the songs yesterday, I said the same thing. Maybe it was the drum machine he used. I don't know.

(ie the demo version of "Guitar.")

Yes, it was released 2 differnt ways. One of the singles was sold in stores, while others were sold through the music club in a paper sleeve.

If it had all of the live material included, I would be a very happy camper!

I really can't stand that "when I lay my hands on U" song at all .. and most of the npgmc has a lot of cheesy lyric problems .. but I would still love to have it in lossless .. and there were definately some great ideas that got a little damged along the way .. u make my sunshine was a great little tune .. minus that horrible jarring bridge .. same with my mediallion ... i reallly loved that song .. till the 3rd verse came out a few months later .. i also agree that vavoom is a good single choice .. i really loved High .. and underneath the cream has some potential (minus a few choice clunker lyrics) and of course .. "splash" needs itself and the rest of whatever album it was on in lossless

I totally agree on that one. I really like that song.

I consider internet releases to be proper releases. This is 2013 dude, u can't live in the past like that.

And BTW When I Lay My Hands On U WAS released and DID fit great on an album: it's called The Chocolate Invasion, check it out wink

The problem is that it's not officially available anymore. If you don't own it already you have to download it illegally somewhere to listen to it.

Physical releases would still be legally available on amazon, ebay, etc....

So "living in the past " is not that bad at all. wink

I'd go further than that and say everything that he has ever released should be available in lossless, whether that is albums, maxi-singles, NPGMC, one-off singles, soundtrack songs, song collaborations on other artists' releases. The distrubution channel is available 3rdeyegirl.com, but............now back to reality we should just be happy with what we got. sigh

I agree with u, but I'm talking about the way he did with "The Dance." I would like to hear a version with a fuller arrangement. OR, I would be satisfied with an updaed release where I can get higher quality files.

I have the original NPGMC version as well as TCI and the quality doesn't compare to either a regular cd or a high quality wav.

true, but being released when they were, they werent really all released in the highest of bitrates at the time. so yes, it is 2013, and lossless downloads would be great to have of these releases.

I agree that a rerelease with better quality would certainly be a good thing, so if you mean "lossless" by "proper" so yeah i'm in.

As for them being avaiolable on CD for sale second hand on Amazon or for illegal download... Honestly I don't see the difference except that in one case it's for sale (but the money's not for Prince) and in the other it's for free lol
