"Prince was easy and awesome to work with" (Nicky Minaj? Not so much!)

This is the story of Mickey Boardman, Paper magazine's editorial director. He tells some very interesting stories about his career, and the celebrities he's worked with.

One celebrity he says was easy to work with was, of all people, Linday Lohan. But he disses Nicky Minaj pretty fiercely.

Here is what he has to say about Prince:

Prince was going to come clothed, all hair and makeup ready, [have the shoot] done in an hour and then leave. I get to the shoot’s location minutes before he’s going to arrive and they were filming a shampoo commercial. The studio’s filled with German people yelling and screaming, and [this commercial] was supposed to be done but it wasn’t. So Prince rolls up in his stretch limo and I’m having a nervous breakdown. I said, “I’m so sorry, we’re not ready.” And he said, “Well, should I just drive around the block for half an hour?” So he does, he comes back and the Germans are still yelling and screaming. I said, “Can you come back tomorrow at the same time?” and he said, “I can come back tomorrow at the same time, but promise that you’re going to be ready.” I promised, and we were, and it was easy breezy. That cover was one of our biggest sellers ever.

lwr001	Why is that surprising.. I have always heard he is nothing less then gracious.. The stories of him being an ass are org and former employee related

steakfinger	He's been an ass in the past. Just because he isn't much of one now and wasn't ALWAYS in the old days doesn't mean it's all disgruntled people.

I remembering him asking for a girraff in the middle of winter in minnesota or summin...which isnt beingb an ass....buuut...

Sometimes him or his accountant forgets to payca ill....again...not being an ass...

i saw a video of a photoshoot during the musicology tour....he seemed profesional.

Hebseems very protective of is image...and if ubfuck with the people who r handling your image....like a waiter...u might end up with some "cream"on your burger. I think hes aware of that.

Even the hair salon in the basement thing he fixed quickly.
