It's not a coincidence that Prince streamed a rehearsal including "Dancing Machine" last night

a day after june 25th (the date of MJ's passing). It's a sign of respect to one of the greats from another one of the greats. I think he's been trying to tell the world that there was never any rivalry between the two and that he always respected MJ as an artist by performing some of his songs. This isn't a MJ vs Prince thread obviously. Just wanted to give my take on why it was included in the rehearsal last night (the reason being that it's been 4 years since MJ's passing) which I thought was cool of him to do

Prince has shown a great deal of class with regards to Michael and his passing. I have seen him performing "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" a few times since then.

Apparently, the NPG jammed on "I Can't Help It" at an aftershow as well, but there's no bootleg, sadly. That would be amazing to hear.

very true but last night was the biggest one he's done by performing "Dancing Machine" exactly 4 years after MJ's passing

well said man. my thoughts exactly. he even remembers the date Mj died (or maybe some1 reminded him who knows) which shows how much of an impact his passing had on him. Another thing i forgot to mention is that Prince never does main vocals on any MJ covers i've heard. I don't think that's a coincidence neither. Prince dosen't want to have people compare the two again and think he outdid MJ and vice versa.

He keeps it classy for sure

all i got from that livestream rehearsal was that he's fallen back into the crappy medley mode yet again....

we can only hope it was an old rehearsal ..

I have heard this now.. and I am not impressed.. to be honest, it's rather boring. zzz

though, I like the "All Hail, new King in town" line from Partyman.

"The new King" is of course Prince, himself. smile

he's the true king..not the 'new king'

but he's too unique to put in those 'king category' ,
