Were any of you aware that Miguel is the "Modern Day Prince"?

I was just informed of this today, and I am quite appalled.
Thoughts?

I think you're taking that far too seriously, but I like Miguel. He's clearly learned a lot from Prince. His SNL performance was great.

I though Ready for the World was?

D'Angelo? Terence Trent D'? Maxwell? Lenny? Andre 3000?

Also, Miguel sucked on SNL. His voice was flat.

Who?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i just had this discussion on twitter last week. There is no Old day prince or a modern day Prince. There's just Prince and people who look like and/or sound similar to him. Miguel is a good artist but can't sing dance write or play instruments like Prince. There's only one. They do the same with the many MJ clones (usher, chris brown, JT, justin bieber)

You must take what Imago says with a grain of salt - along with a lime and a shot of tequila.

Dancing is not required to be an artist of any kind other than a dancer.

So first you're appalled by the suggestion that Miguel might be a modern-day Prince, next you conclude that he's a wannabe trying be the new Prince.

Aren't those essentially the same thought?

And if people believe either, does that take anything away from Prince?

Again, you're taking that far too seriously, and Miguel is a talented young artist who deserves some success. Wouldn't you rather someone with a heavy-Prince influence chart over a chump like Chris Brown?
