When was the last time Prince felt confident with new material to include 5 new songs in his set

I've counted Down, Screwdriver, Fixurlifeup, Plectrum, and cause and effect

er

The real question should be: when was the last time P fans actually wanted to hear the new stuff played in concert as opposed to their favorites from back in the day?
In 1995, prince only played songs (jams?) from his upcoming Gold Experience album. All of the diehard fans I knew back then already knew Gold thru bootlegs, but I guess we were only 10-20 % of the audience back then. The rest must have been standing there wondering, what the hell is this?!?! eyepop

are u sure he is that confident? .. these shows are pretty small and expensive .. more for the hardcore fans and not so much for the general prince fan ..
