i don't understand the situation with Prince and Andy. The last time they have been seen together was

that band photo of them. The picture of Prince on the floor and Andy is above him, I like that pic of the band. They are either keeping their relationship on the down low...or just like the others, Andy had her 15 minutes to shine with Prince .

as far as Tamar - who know - maybe they had a falling out over her management (or lack of it) - or maybe something else split them apart - could be any one of a number of reasons he has been known to kick people out of his sphere that I won't speculate with here - because none of us know for sure

for her music, for that screechy album of hers - he could have released it I am sure if he wanted to through other means but it seems like she was being punished instead ?

Andy told me that she will be going on a tour this year. But she didn't say if it was with Prince or not. Even though I got the feeling he was there with her when we spoke.

SXSW? She didn't perform with him though if I recall. And she was booked for that festival before he was. They were at the same place at the same time, but there is no i dication that they were there together.

Andy Allo is encouraging FB supporters to vote for her as the selected artist for the Billboard pre-party. I am assuming that this the pre-party for Bilboard award. So the locational coincidences between the two are continuing. This could be either because they are together or she is piggybacking off his events to get some exposure or both. Fair enough imo.

I think the artists hitch their wagons to the Prince train, and expect it to take them to fameville. But he hasn't taken anyone there in a long time. If Prince wasn't such a control freak, he could just produce their album, hand over the music, collect some cash (or whatever payment they agreed upon, like points, etc), then be done with them. Let the artist and label worry about promotion and distribution. But of course, they all want the Prince package deal.

I think it's the other way around, actually. Prince insist on making them over from the ground up, wrapping them up in his beliefs and sounds and themes and acting as some sort of svengali for the career with lots of promises and filling their eyes with flashbulbs and dollar signs. Until he gets bored and yanks it all out from under them and they are worse off career wise than where they started from.

So true I think these people do themselves and their careers a disservice by collaborating with Prince.When was the last time he had a succesful protege? The mid-80s! Sheila E. was his last truly successful protege.But he keeps on trying...always finding a sexy,light-skinned female artist and promising her the moon.Then he gets bored with them and starts the process all over again with someone else,LOL.
