Prince knows his music

The guy knows which of his songs are actually good. In the recent shows, he's pulled out (1) I Like It There and not, say, Right the Wrong, and (2) Colonized Mind and not Forever. Hopefully that'll translate to the next album or set of jams. biggrin

I know what you mean and I've thought about starting a similar thread. Whenever he plays to smaller audiences he starts playing fan favourites like "She's Always In My Hair" or "Joy In Repetition". He even seems to know what the bootlegged favourites are ("The Dance Electric", "Empty Room", "In A Large Room With No Light" etc.).

Seeing him start a set with something like "When I Lay My Hands On U", like he did in Montreux a few years back, signals he also knows what are the "keepers" from those periods when he's kept a lower profile.

Good point re the bootleg trax. Seems despite supposedly not wanting us to have those songs, he's aware of what we like and happy to play songs for us that are supposedly unknown to us.
