Is this song circulating?

not as far as i know. some people must have heard it since there is a describtion

of it on princevault including lyrical subject matter.

but it's never been in wide circulation. probably a few elitist collectors have it, or

maybe even they don't.

no. but I think one of the Madonna researchers went and listened to the submitted tape copy at the Library of Congress.

Does this mean we can listen to all the vault-songs Prince officially copyrighted if we go to the Library of Congress?

NO. To copyright something all it needs to be is in some tangible form. If he wanted to pay the fee and have it registered he would still not have to submit a copy, just the lyrics and maybe not even that. The LOC doesn't have every prince song on file.

From what I understand if a tape was submitted, you have to provide a written request and a stated purpose to be granted access, and people are very closely monitored for recording devices. And I think you only get a certain amount of time with the archive to take your notes.

And you have to apply and schedule a visit in the future. You can't just walk in.
