List of drum machines used by Prince

Prince is known for his creative use of Linn Lm1.He almost never use other Linn drums for his Albums except for Kiss he used Linm 9000.But he did zse Linn Drum for his side projects. In the late 80's he started using other drum machines. So let's make a list of the drum machines Prince used and use now. Linn Lm1,Linn Drum,Linn 9000 .That is all i know. What did he use for Wouldn't U Love 2 Love Me ?

This topic might have good info: Prince Drum Machine Knock...rslutz.com ( ... i'm still finishing to read it reading ... )

I checked the online Sound On Sound magazine about the ArenaLinn. Their last article about ArenaLinn is in October 2008 and I didn't see any mention of Prince related to that drum model. So far it's tough to discover which drum equipment he used for 20ten.

Maybe there are also drum machine details in the topics here in the archives, where orgers posted questions for Prince's 90s drummer Michael Bland?

It was the LM-1 end of story. Prince stuck very close to the LM -1. I use to play in Brownmark's band and always thought those sounds came fron the Linn Drum. He corrected me.

Yes i have.it's always fun to read about Linn. But it's more based on spectulation.i mean they spent more time on trashing the linn then beinf objective.two posters said they haze Prince's rim sound.imagine that

He used Fairlight CMI drums on some late 80s songs, such as "It".

He might have sampled the Linn for the Fairlight. There are some sounds on "It" that suggest that they came from a different sound set though

Did the Linn 9000 have its own sounds? Because Kiss snare sounds like LM-1, but I know David Z said he used the 9000.

I think he used LM-1 on his own stuff for 1999, Purple Rain, SOTT etc.

But LinnDrum for Sheila E's albums
