Yours was in 1 minute before Militant, so I thought I'd reply here wink

You've got to say that was unexpected.

Awesome to hear it played by Elvis. His rendition is really cool and I think the number fits his characterful vocal delivery quite well.

It makes me yearn to hear Prince knock it out of the park with a full blown power production of this total utter classic though. That would be the shits.

Lovely cool

The 15 seconds I made it through was truly cringeworthy.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

"who's this Prince?"

Didn't Elvis die back in the 70s?

JK, I thnk it's great he chose this song to perform, maybe it will spur Prince to release the original from the Vault. I won't judge the performance since it's obviously a rehearsal and Elvis is reading the lyrics from the music stand. I hope tonight's performance will be available somehow, what is the history with this tribute concert? Have the other concerts been released somehow? I shall have to do some research. I wish I could be there!

actually, I jacked Militant's thread. you're the one that brought it to Graycap's thread. memory isn't your thing either, apparently.

like I said... stick to copying and pasting articles about people and things no one cares about, like Rihanna getting her fingernails painted or something. it's what you excel at.

Agreed, it was actually pretty good. I thought it came across a bit like a rehearsal. He clearly didn't know it well, and the bg singers were terrible, but I thought he sounded genuine and sang it pretty straight. Band sounded great

Prince would have to give permission for this. It's legal to cover a released song as long as you pay. For an unreleased track you have to have permission.

wink
