Wish this was mine.

I would get a stethoscope and examine, carefully listen to this machine's heartbeat and unheard inside stories of recording sessions ... Imagine the miles of tape that ran through this beauty - oh, if only machines could speak or let us hear which sounds passed through those magnetic heads ...

Of course. If you press that squiggle/symbol button the track uploads directly to the 3rd Eye Girl website in .ecnirp format.

That's a Studer 8 Track recorder and it was almost certainly NOT used for tracking an album. When Paisely Park opened, (hell, when For You came out) 16 track was the norm in any real studio. Perhaps it was used for recording rehearsals or maybe it had some video application, but unless he had it chained to some bigger machines it was probably not one of his main units. The studio I use has a 24 Track Studer 2" tape machine of the same vintage and that's a fairly down-home studio. I wonder what this deck was mainly used for? Interesting...

Still thick, wide studio tape has amazing sound.

Ever listened to a 24/96 or 24/192 copy of such a tape on DVD-A?

Even if the music might not be your taste you will have to admit it sounds pretty darn good.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

There's a shot of this machine in the Chaos And Disorder booklet as well, right?

Seems as if it's a 24 track in the Chaos booklet.
