According to DigitalSpy Prince has signed up to headline this years Glastonbury festival in the UK.

Whether the story holds any water, I don't know. If Prince does have an album coming out later in the year this could be the perfect way to promote it in the UK at least.

I have been on the Org since Day 1.

There has never been a year in which there wasn't at least one thread titled "Prince to Headline Glastonbury?".

I'll bet that if there was a way to search for the most common thread title of all time, this would be it.

I wish Prince would play Glastonbury, but on the other hand that would just lead to years of threads titled "Prince to Headline Glastonbury Again?".

Even in the 'fallow' years that Glastonbury didn't take place

problem is I believe the BBC get full TV rights in perpetuity. Not something Prince would like.

although i'm sure he could opt out of the Televisation - however stupid that would be.

Thing is - now he's firmly part of the summer Euro Festival circuit, doesn't it make it more likely he'll play Glasto at some point? Especially if the rumour's true that his fee created problems for Hop Farm - so maybe won't get the financial offers he'd like from other festivals... And - if he does have an album out - maybe the blanket coverage he'd get for headlining Glasto would persuade him it was worth it?

I just think it feels more likely this year - though I hope it's not true as it's yet another festival gig, for a sold out festival, with little chance of an aftershow. Unless it's a room above a pub. Which would obviously be amazing.
