I think the site offers the oppertunity to buy the songs you really like.

So, nobody needs to be hating or being negative over here. I you don't like the song, don't buy it. If you like it, buy it.

Well that might be true if the site had a preview function but, seeing as it doesn't, you often have to buy before you try.

Some of the troll type negativity you see on this forum (i.e. "Prince hasn't done anything decent in the past 15 years" or "I'd rather poor shit into my ears") gets on my nerves, but if you buy a track and don't really like it you've got as much right to say so as someone who likes it.

this is true. we all have a right to express an opinion here.

BUT and this is the key, WHY are these folks still here??? some of them, i could name names, but whatever, have been here since at least 1998, bitching EVERY TIME about new releases.

doesn't matter when, where, or what prince does, we can find the same tired old assholes, spewing the same tired old negativity, to the point where it is no longer about 'opinions', but rather about immaturity and mental health.

WHY are these folks still here, after all this time, when all they do is HATE?? why not find a website they like? why not find an artist they like? why spend this much time and energy on repetition when there is no joy in it????

i really do not understand. rant over smile

Screwdriver Remix: 4/5 starts. The sound of this version as opposed to the single reminds me of the differences the 12" Mountains had versus the album version. Good job!

RnR Love Affair: 5/5 stars. I can't get enough of this song. The extended version feels a little too long for me but the single version is in regular rotation in the truck.

That Girl Thang: 3/5 stars. Good to hear an accoustic song once in a while. This one just feels raw and since it's(supposedly) recorded the day it was released, it feels like there's a strong emotional background he's trying to tell us but holding back.

L.O.L.: 3/5 stars. Only because I haven't given this song a real chance yet.

Breakfast Can Wait: 3/5 stars. It sounded nice at first but it's a little forgetable for me.

Like what was said in another post, I'm very happy to even get these songs. Also already stated, a physical release of an album would be stellar but I'll take what I can get right now and hope something cool comes soon.

All of the Music released on 3rdEye is a little suspect IMO. People giving it 4 out of 5? Are you guys serious? I'd give it a 4....out of 10 (possibly 20).

Just to lay things out logically for a second: Let's lay SOTT/1999 out as a baseline for a 5/5. An album like Controversy while still great is not quite on the level of SOTT, so we'll give controversy a 4.5/5. I'm going to say beyond a shadow of a doubt that controversy is at least TWICE as good as anything on 3rdEyeGirl.com, thus the highest score I could give anything on there would be 2.25/5.

The best tracks on 3rdEye are obviously Boyfriend and Breakfast Can Wait, and both these tracks are the typical Prince "Lounge-Funk" that's barely entertaining and Prince can just do it in his sleep.

I'm appreciative to have new Prince music, and just from a completest standpoint I will buy any new Prince music regardless of quality. I hope Prince puts a new song up on 3rdEye every week for the rest of his life, and I'll pay the 88cents every time without batting an eye, but to compare these songs with some of his 80's work is ludicrous. Anyone who rated these a 4/5 needs to get real

Screwdriver - Not as disgusting as my dirty mind read. He can drive, although he doesn't have to. She can screw with his mind, pockets, etc. C&D for 2013.

Screwdriver Remix - More milking of a breezy tune. Good argument.

Screwdriver Movie - The buildup and performance could'a benefited by a few more songs. Bambi maybe? shrug

Breakfast Can Wait - An obsession of mine lol. Rolling Stone co-signed as they should've. Would be a change to hear it on the evil radio programming that is quite obselete most days, but if he don't mind it, I know where I left it.

Boyfriend - The horns again. Not responsible for where anyone sleeps. Just hope they wake up. smoker

L.O.L. - Manic Monday reincarnated. Fresher lyrics. Less novelty and production value.

That Girl Thang - I feel you, sir, I really do. Just woke up one morning, grabbed yo guitar and broke it down into aztec math. hug

RNR Affair Remix 7 - More dairy. I'll take it. Still my favorite recent grower.

No rush touched

For all time I am with you, you are with me.
