Danish radio: 7 hours about PRINCE & his career (celebrating the 30 years since "1999" incl radio-interview w. BOBBY Z!)

Source link: http://www.dr.dk/p7mix/pr...p7-maraton

7 hours "Marathon" and with a lot of Prince songs and related artists' material played:

When: tomorrow, sunday 17. february 2013,

What: 7 hours digital net-radio show from 10 am to 5 pm (10:00 to 17:00, danish time), (I guess there will be a PodCast on dr.dk later too)

Who: radiohosts Nikolaj Molbech and Henrik Milling, on national radiostation DR (Danmarks Radio) - P7 Mix / internet digital radio

This could be really good (mostly for those who don't know much about Prince),

I (also) fear it will be really bad with a lot of errors, and misinformation.

Maybe this should come with a "Warning", wink

It could turn out really bad:

Henrik Milling is very popular, a host on danish radio for many many years,

- but also known for a lot of errors when it comes to Prince -- especially his "hate" towards a personal favorite of mine: the Prince album "Lovesexy", (he called earlier this album "the big flop of 1988" - mainly because it did not sell a lot in the US),

he has also claimmed earlier that Prince didn't write "Purple Rain", (we all know that Prince said "I did not write "Purple Rain" (the movie's film-manuscript), someone else did" in the MTV interview 1986, and also IN THE MOVIE, it was a "Wendy & Lisa" song, in real life it is written by his purple highness, right!?

and he also said on TV, that Prince is known for his motto: "Real Music By Real People".. haha..

I have never heard Prince say anything else than "Real People By Real Musicians" lol

Anyway I kind of like him Milling, he is very enthusiastic, but he is far from a reliable source about Prince and the music..

also Milling is a huge admirer of Michael Jackson, putting Prince in a bit of a shadow, I am not sure Milling loves Prince's earlier work, imo he deserves more recoqnition, I wonder if Milling actually has listened to a whole Prince album, and appreciate them too -- or if he has just listende to "the hits".

Anyway if Milling is reading this thread (who knows), I still wish him luck with the radio "Marathon" tomorrow.. I hope it will be without too many errors this time..

this was written - by me - a few years back, about the danish host Henrik Milling:

"what annoys me is when people are talking bad about Prince's old masterpiece albums:

a very popular danish DJ Henrik Milling on danish national radio P3, once called Lovesexy an unfocused jam session (something like that) and Prince's biggest flop, with only 1 good song (Alphabet Street), he then played 2 songs to show "how bad this album is" - and those 2 songs were I Wish U Heaven and When 2 R In Love mad eek

(damn I just love those songs!)

this guy, Henrik Milling is no Prince fan, I think his biggest idols (the ones that he always are talking positive about) are:

Michael Jackson and The Fresh Prince of Bellair aka Will Smith.... eek lol

What I am trying to say with this is that it is very annoying (to me).. when the media people are talking bad about Prince. but never mind, in general Prince really gets positive comments in Denmark (very positive these days)...

But back then, a few years back, I wrote this guy an angry email, calling him "Prince's worst enemy", and I wrote the Lovesexy album - despite low sales in US (something he pointed out in the radio) it actually went to #1 in the UK and sold very well in other European countries too... and Lovesexy to me is a beautiful masterpiece,

lol.... this was maybe not the wisest thing I have ever done - sending this email to a DJ, but it felt good." lol biggrin

1988, Prince was playing his famous concert Lovesexy in Copenhagen and stayed in the city for about a week, 6 days (?)

Prince was in the danish studio named Medley.. recording music.

this story will be aired between 16.00 and 17.00,

interview with some danish musicians, from the pop band "Back to back".

the danish musicians were in "shorts and t-shirts", Prince was in a high fashion clothes, with a mirror heart (you know it) at his wrist.... the story follows - later.. in anout 6 hours from now.

^ thanks Lenis, true.. you people out there can catch the podcast from sometime tomorrow, monday.. biggrin

but I am afraid the Bobby Z interview (which is a big scoop!),

this interview is played in a lot of "snippets", with danish translation in-between.

The interview won't be in "1 portion"... a lot of "small portions"....

(maybe a little annoying for the english speaking fans here..)
