he certainly don't need to sing about rape! I don't think it's even about being dirty or nasty, but if a track needs the word FUCK or SHIT for effect, then so be it, especially when he's writing lyrics that intentionally rhyme with a swear word, and then say something else just to make it very clear he don't want to. But he's obviously still THINKING the words, so what's the difference. Am I making sense? I know what I mean! Personally I think albums like 1999, for example, where hardcore PRINCE, where nobody told him what to do, and he did exactly as he pleased, and didn't care. I think he just wants to appear to care too much, and be family friendly, which aint going to work in the long run, because as we all know, once you get the bug, you will be buying all his nasty shit and listening to it anyway! | |

that's the thing, you cant go making music, that the world knows and loves and then change the fucking words. what would happen if an artist walks into some gallery and rubs the fucking face off a painting and changes the expression on the subject because he had an after-thought 20 years later?! I think Prince should go back to being a selfish prick. | |

I think at times maybe he forgot at times that being an entertainer such as he is, just like in videos live performances is or can be an act you're putting on a show, so taking characters that are a part of who you are and exaggerating them, even the sexual doesn't make you some kind of hypocrite | |
