Chris Evans played it this morning , it was good to hear it played against other music but Chris made a few comments about it that sadly i had to agree with.Only yesterday i put on lovesexy in my car and i know an artist cannot allways be at the top of the tree but i wish he would perhaps listen to some of the music he has created in the past. I know i have little creative musical talent but a little honesty wouldn't go a miss.If prince is happy with this song then so be it. but he can't really believe deep down that this compares to any of his output when he was at his best ,which is becoming a long distant memory.

Well both Alex Lester 0200 - 0500 and Steve Wright 1400 - 1700 played it and said they loved it so all is not lost, maybe it'll grow on Chris Evans, he also said about his conversation with Prince although they didn't speak, i guess he's still a little pissed about the whole Emancipation fiasco.

Chris also tweeted about Prince during his 2006 Brit Awards appearence.

Something along the lines of no one knew wether he was going to play or not and he reckoned it did his rep more harm than good.

Aye, Ed is a huge Prince fan. I saw a clip once of him dressed as P (not terribly convincing but I don't think that was the point!). Don't get me started on radio...I had to endure day after day of Radio 1, Clyde 1, Capital FM etc. at my old place of work. You wouldn't believe the number of times I had to sit through Adele, Bruno Mars and Olly Murs (my nervous tic is coming back..). Radio 2 isn't something I listen to personally, but Ken Bruce is someone I respect, as he debuted Kate Bush's new single some years back and likes Judie Tzuke too...now that he's added Prince to his repertoire I'm even more impressed! As relatively bland as RNR is, it's certainly refreshing to hear something from our man on the radio that isn't 'Kiss'.

A big YES to this. If I hear When Doves Cry one more bloody time. Christ knows how Prince copes having to have played it soooo many times.

So when Chris Evans played it this morning he said he now likes it and shouldn't have been so quick to write it off on first listen, like for may others this song seems to have grown on people myself included

Is this getting promoted properly for it to be on so much. I thought you had to pay a lot these days to get on the radio regularly? I'm sure someone knows how it works?

What really needs to happen is the song to be available to buy, the regular radio listener isn't going to want to buy an import cd single for a tenner with crappy house remixes, it needs to be on itunes and amazonmp3, surely radio 2 wouldn't play it unless it was readily available, i've just looked and it's on the A list for the 3rd week running wc 8th dec, looking good.

^^ it appears that official digital release through itunes etc is dec 14th and is available digitally through purple music dec 6th (tomorrow)

I've known UK stations, especially Radio 1, play stuff 2 months plus before its released, over and over and over again so by the time it comes out you're piss sick of it.
