What kind of Prince album I want next

Raw New Orleans blues style, mainly accoustic. No sugary ballads, no retro-funk, no retro-80s

Sorry, I meant Dr. John. I don't need Prince doing a Dr. John album any more than I need Dr. John to do a Prince album. wink

I think you just described Prince's sound of the past decade to a tee.

Yes, I love Dr. John - cool cat. And yes, a little bit this kind of style, but with some Prince magic thrown in for good measures, that would be cool for me cool

not reto? how retro is new orleans blues?

fuck the blues prince, stop trying to play the elder statesman of music. you're being too conventional, you're playing by the rules that you effortlessly tore up. open your mind, paint with your rainbow (thanks for the quote mr. ayer). start wanking again, daily, and write songs about it. you used to be a brilliant wanker!

Miles

For me -

An album of consistently great, strong songs, with lyrics personal to Prince but understandable to general audience

Arrangements/ Sound - Edgy, well-programmed, modern but Princely techno-rock-funk-jazz-outtherethang.

More anger, more passion, more edge, more humour than albums since TRC.

No more Do Me Baby/ Adore photocopies EVER again.

Use the Linn drum sounds if desired but make 'em modern and cool again.

Kinda Black Album (but with more consistent quality songs) meets Lotusflower meets Come, with a dash of Strange But True cool

I can dream lol

Pure Prince. Whatever currently resides in his heart & soul is what I'd long 2 hear in an album. Just want 2 hear him...

A raw guitar album, kinda like what Jack White has been doing with his Dead Weather and solo stuff maybe? That might be cool

How about no more "new" Prince albums @ all? I'll take some remasters & outtakes all day over any more new stuff. I say this, because I doubt Prince can come with an actually creative aggressive album, like he used to. Most likely it won't be mixed & mastered well. We won't even get any crazy Prince vocals [Prince rarely even sings background vocals anymore]....just the mediocre uninspired shit we've been getting. I'm sick of the paper covers too. I'm almost starting to think that the paper covers are an omen that the album is going to suck. confused

الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

An old one from the vault that was recorded in the early 1980s.

This is not your oh-so-typical black friday after a no longer thanksgiving event.

This is Prince an d this is the Great Depression 2.

Just sit and wait.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
