Obscure Prince references

The 'Prince and Red Dwarf' thread got me thinking of other times I've seen (or imagined) Prince references in completely unrelated things.

My most recent one was in the game Borderlands 2. There's an achievement called 'Purple Reign' and there's a location in it called 'Old Man Johnson's Farm'.

Coincidence? I think not!

Ian Broudie's band The Lightening Seeds was named after a misheard lyric from Raspberry Beret: "Thunder drowns out what the lightening sees..."

Then Tori Amos used the phrase "lightening seed" in Caught A Lite Sneeze.

So that makes it a very obscure (though based on a misheard lyric) Prince reference!

Firstly, hello again purpleland wave Just nipped out 4 a breath of fresh air there! Secondly, I find the more u tune in2 Prince & his music, the more u will continue 2 see these obscure random things. But r they actually obscure or random?! wink

I find Prince related things in music, random conversations, in the beauty of natural nature, sometimes even in the supermarket, anywhere & everywhere. What I've come 2 realise is that Prince is never really that far away, not when his beautiful music in ur heart & mind & soul. That's a kinda love that will never, ever depart... hug

I see people walking in through the out door all the time. Maybe they're Prince fans.

I've heard his songs a couple times. They play TMBGITW in Morrisons supermarket near me. Also saw a bottle of dog's flea lotion which was called Get Off! & it made me chuckle. And I once parked the car only to see the car parked ahead of me had NPG at the end if the car reg! Just silly little things like that I notice! biggrin

Yesterday I was watching Moonwalker. In the first part of the Movie, After the parody performance of "Bad", the little Michael asks his assistant what his pet monkey monkey Bubbles is wearing, to which he responds "He's wearing a Prince t-shirt and red sneakers".

Little Michael says "A Prince T-shirt?" in a confused sarcastic tone...

I've seen That Movie Hundreds Of times and yesterday I just catched that up

In the commercial that was pulled, a box of Prince spaghetti was on stage with spotlights and maybe a mic and guitar? I don't remember.

^^ Ha ha- Very good Unique! lol I had to hunt through a ton of photos to find this that I took earlier in the year. In ASDA carpark, this is what I saw when I parked. Just bloody typical as it summed up perfectly how I felt that day, haha! Had been listening to waaaay too much Prince at the time & then I saw this! lol

I am an interior designer. I was flipping through a book of drapery fabrics and one style name was Vanessa...ok, no biggie, but the next one was named Bette. Vanessa Bette?! Not a coincidence I'm sure.
