Best awards appearances.

AWARDS SHOW FAVOURITES.

1. Favourite acceptance speech.

2. Favourite performance

3. Worst.

Mine are:

1. 1986 Minnesota Music Awards. Prince is in a good mood, excitable, in good humour. Seems genuinely pleased which is always nice to see.

2. 2006 NAACP Awards. I just really like the medley, he's on top form vocally and the band are great, despute being an unusal lineup.

3. 1995 Brit Awards - acceptance speech. If you've seen it you'll know why.

1. The lack of one when accepting favorite single for When Doves Cry at the AMA Jan 1985

2. SOTT/Play In The Sunshine - MTV Awards 1987

3. The Christ (formerly the Cross) on some BET awards show

1. RRHOF speech by Alicia Keys

2. American Music Awards or Grammys? 1984. The performance of Purple Rain where he's in the green outfit. Amazing, passionate, measured, playful vocal performance. Runners up are Electric Chair on SNL in 1989, RRHOF, and the Brit Awards in 2006.

3. James Brown, MJ, and Prince in the early 1980s.

Firstly, never happened. Secondly, if it happened, it wasn't an awards show.

Uh, what are you talking about? The footage is readily available on the Internet. The only question is was it an awards show. It's funny how confident/harsh your response was.

Anyway, I gather it was actually a James Brown and BB King concert with a lot of celebs in attendance. So my second choice is P. Control in 1995 at 1st VH-1 Fashion & Music Awards. I actually like this song a lot, but I think it was a bad choices for that show.

Thinking about this question, I realize how good most
of his award show performances are.

Umm yeah, if you could just send me a link to what you're talkin about, that'd be great. I just wasted my time reading some threads on the org only to confirm what I already know. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I just have no idea how you can say that the three of them were never on stage together. They clip is available and confirmed in multiple places. Maybe you're speakin in some code that I don't understand.

There was a stupid thread awhile back about how it never happened, but as you say...it's on video...it happened.

Wouldn't it be better for the whole Prince fan community if we all just agreed that it in fact didn't happen and never spoke of it again.

I'm a bit curious as to what Englishgent was going on about. Because it makes no sense.

I fully support this proposition.
