Help with a song from Graffiti Bridge

Question about a song from this movie. In it, George Clinton (I think it was George, I haven't seen this movie in years) is singing some funky song and his back up girls keep going 'meow.' Anyone know what song that is? It's not his duet with Prince from the soundtrack, it has to be one of George's own. Can't find any info Googling it.

And kudos to this site. I haven't posted in six years and my account is still here. Man that's freaky.

Its possibly a version of his 1983 hit Atomic Dog, which had cat meows in it. Failing that the song may be off his 1989 Paisley Park album "The Cinderella Theory" not sure which track as I haven't heard it (yet).

It actually is We Can Funk (I think). They just added the meows into the film version of it (possibly to cover up Prince's vocals on the song since he isn't supposed to be in that scene)

It IS "We Can Funk", with people going "Woof, Meow" on top.

Keep your headphones on.

At the time George Clintons contract with "whomever" meant that he could not vocalise in the film ...so no lines and no singing, hence the Meows during "WE CAN FUNK"

Its sad to see that a person once in charge of the whole Funkadelic/Parliament empire reduced to make animal noises on a B grade Prince movie. As the Duke of Gloucester said to King Lear "Alas the wheel has come full circle".

These meow parts aren't on the album version which is probably why you didn't recognise it.
