Prince's Keyboarder in Graffiti Bridge

This somewhat futuristic looking guy is credited as "Phillip C.". Does anybody know something about him? I think in fact he was never playing live with Prince. Was Dr. Fink ,who played later on the whole Nude-Tour, too old or not fashionable enough for GB?
The only word he says in the whole movie is "B A N G !"

Hey, leave the guy alone. It would have taken him weeks to learn the script of "BANG".

And he's a very gifted player as well, he can play the alphabet tune on the keyboards (as morris sings "A,B,C,D,E,F,G"...etc)

I think I read somewhere that Dr.Fink was busy preparing for the 'Nude' tour,so for the movie,Prince hired the unknown Philip C. portray the keyboardist. Is this true?

I beleieve the first half is right about Dr Fink - he was unavailable for the filming. I understood that Phillip C was actually Prince's hair stylist and stood in for the keyboard player parts. However, I have not seen this corroborated by an authoritative or researched source to date.

Incidentally, the film credits cite 'Phillip Carreon' as responsible for hair. I guess he's a person to ask. ( Subsequent thread post below confirms it is him)

He is quoted at the following web pages as working for the LA Profile salon

Dr. Fink was programming the keyboards for the Nude Tour so Prince had Philip C (true, he WAS his hairdresser at the time) to fill in the role in Graffiti Bridge. This was confirmed in both Uptown and DMSR.

Thanks - I've not tracked it down in Uptown - and I'm surprised it's in DMSR because of the time period it covers - perhaps I read it there and missed it?

From my understanding, Dr. Fink was too busy programming keyboards for the nude tour, so Prince got his hair stylist, whatever his name is, to fill in.

Damn, isn't that weird, engaging the hairstylist as keyboarder? They even taught him to pose around
and playing "A,B,C,D,E,F,G...as well.
Thanks for these infos.

Can't wait for a Graffiti Bridge special edition DVD, where there is Deleted scenes of Philip C adding more depth to the story with his other lines of "POW", "CRASH", "BIFF", and an extended scene where he teams up with Tevin Campbell (who had the "Vroom Vroom" line in the movie), which runs for 20 minutes between the two of them doing stupid sound effects.

Gotta wonder too how that guy gave Prince the cool hair, when in the movie (as he does his "BANG" line) he's crosseyed!
