Oh yes. In fact, they're so similar that even sometimes (normally on Tuesdays and Thursdays) they are exactly the same person.

¿Noel Gallgher A GENIUS? What have I missed...? eek

I'm not a fan personally but you can hardly say he's talentless.

^ not just this site. The world is full of musically ignorant pricks. I mean, who here hasn't been told they're gay for being a Prince fan?

I'm not much of an Noel/Oasis/HFB fan, but I will say this for him - he really knows what he's doing when it comes to layering guitar tracks. In that respect he is similar to Prince - except his layering talent is with vocals.

Actually I am a fan - but not of his music - I love seeing/hearing him being interviewed - he's witty, intelligent and entertaining. If he were to do a 'standing on stage and talking bollocks for a couple of hours' type show, ala Henry Rollins, I'd be there in a flash.

[Edited 10/19/12 11:12am]

Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Agreed!

And if you still think Gallagher has something remarkable to talk about in any way you're the first of them.

Good Lord I've seen it all now. Point me to the blatant T Rex ripoffs Prince has done, or entire albums of wannabe Beatles but ending up sounding like a cheap pub Talent Treck tribute act material.

I liked a bit of Oasis myself for the first couple of albums but to call Noel Gallagher a Genius or put him close to Prince is just laughable.

Closer to Noddy Holder IMO

again...i spell it out I AM NOT COMPARING THEIR MUSIC

their backgrounds..their work ethic..their loyalty to home roots...

and for the record even if i wasnt a fan of noel he gives without doubt THE funniest and most self depreciating interviews i have ever seen a rock star give

really and truly bursts the bubble of the "pop star"

what a stupid thread

do you realize that 99% of modern (post-40s) pop/rock stars came from a "normal" background (high-school graduates, college dropouts, etc, PRINCE INCLUDED) ?
