Finally hearing all the new/old jams!

This one is a great track and a jamathon! However, I can see why he left it off Lovesexy but I agree with others it would have made one hell of a B-side back in the day!

Sheila E is on fire on this track! Sheila E! Sheila E!

Cool to here the Acknowledge Me scream from Bonnie in its original context

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I don't know. I love a lot of the newly released stuff, but I still think The Line #2 is cornier than the Jolly Green Giant's turds.

I love all the drums and clapping and energy and then he throws in that "precious lord" soulful part. so nice. To me this is not corny but just good positive feeling music.

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I love both versions. The new one turns it into a wonderful party song, it's really lively and rich in terms of musical events, a real pleasure to my ears.

Now the thing is that I've had a long-lived, major love affair with the original version, one of my favorite outtakes ever. The original is more intimate, it has this wonderful keyboard sound that has almost disappeared in the second version... I can't see it as "unfinished" because it worked perfectly for me as it was: it's just another version, with a more intimate approach of spirituality (as opposed to the collective, gospel-like, approach of the second one).

So in the end, if Prince is ever to release it, as promised in the Crystal Ball booklet, I hope he releases both versions, because they really are different enough in their vibes to deserve a doucle release. And no matter how much the new one sounds cool to me, the original will always be my favorite, beloved, little girlfriend.

I have loved the first version for years, however, I also love both versions.

Okay, I'll say something positive about The Line #2: It's about as funky as a song can get, coming from a guy who's partially deaf and has a crippled left foot.
