Prince Interactive CD-ROM

Is this worth looking for? Anything special on it

It was fun to play back then, a simple myst-like gameplay, but not hard to solve at all. It contains the (cheap-ass) video for "endorphine machine", the audio-track "Interactive" and a "Kiss" karaoke-version with lyrics.

For it's time it was pretty okay and nice designs. Gameplay wasn't really challenging, but that's not really the point of the game.

It reminded me of the online NPG Music Club-site... With the rooms and stuff.

Should you get to play it, it had a bug in "opening the vault", which had to do with your screen resolution (you needed to lower it if i remember right).

All that bathing in purple rain just can't be good for your health...

It's pretty cool but it doesn't work on Windows 7, and you need to have your screen resolution set to 640X480 in order to finish the game.

Keep your headphones on.

I remember years before I was ever a fan of prince's music, I played this on my cousins' computer. for some reason it was etched into my brain, for years I could vividly remember the gett off video

The original ones had the song Interactive that could be played on any CD player. The subsequent (cheaper) ones did not. I have the cheaper one that was included in a CD-ROM bundle.

Someone mentioned that you can't really play the game anymore -- unless you have a really old computer -- but you can still navigate the directories for some images and videos (including a karaoke version of "Kiss").

Graphics were pretty good for the era.

You need a really old QuickTime Version - v1.0 or v1.5 I think - installed to play the "game" on the CD-ROM (on Windows, don't know about Mac).

You can still run the cd-rom or copy the game to your pc

No need to instal the game, or instal old versions of quick time

All you need to do is make an .ini file Basicly this lets you bypass instaling, and runs the game

File name : INTRACTV.INI

Place it in C:\WINDOWS

Copy this text and paste it in the INTRACTV.INI file

[ZIPPER]
CDROMDRIVE=C:\INTRACTV:
WORKINGDIRECTORY=C:\INTRACTV
SOURCEDIRECTORY=C:\INTRACTV
BUFFERSIZE=20000

You need to change the drive leter and directory

As you see i have the complete game saved on my pc C:\INTRACTV

Note: im running windows xp

ive never played it but i want 2 very much :/, that was way before i was playing games but i did play some games later on that sound similar and i liked the feel those had. ive read a lot on the game and it sounds kool especially that the mansion is built in the shape of his symbol. prince

I'll die in your arms under the cherry moon"

It already looked old when I purchased it back in the late 90's so now I can't imagine... I wish I still had it just for fun. The remix gadget for race didn't work on mine, it was disappointing. All the rest was crap but Interactive, the instrumental versions of Kiss and Loose! and the Endorphinmachine video were cool stuff to have back then before the internet gave us everything for free lol

Worth it purely just for the incidental music and the pretty designs and graphics...love the music in the main foyer with the revolving symbol.

It's like an early version of the NPGMC (03-06) but actually with nicer visuals.

There are other little tie-ins to his legacy, such as a red Corvette on a table and a closet full of his most-recognizable outfits (cloud suit, purple trenchcoat, etc).
