Darling Nikki Used For Education! A Funny Story!

Well, I am a teen and it is quite apparant to my school that I'm a HUGE Prince fan (On Halloween, I wore my homemade costume into school while my friend blasted 1999), so this is a funny story about how I tried to bring the magic of Darling Nikki into school!

Our teachers gave us a group project to make a song about writing strategies using an existing song as a template. Well, some used "ABC", "Bohemian Rhapsody", and "Tik Tok" and my group agreed on "Livin' On A Prayer" as our song. Well, the group elected me as the back up lyricist. So after 10 minutes, the group was stumped but I already had a song. Yes, it was based off of Darling Nikki. Nobody knew what the song was so to convince them I said it helped start the parental guidance label and that sold them! Surprisingly, all the teachers just giggled when we pitched the song to them and we got to work on choreography. Eventually, they all watched the video from Purple Rain and were pretty shocked but it just made them want to do it more! The only problem was...there was no kareoke version and we couldn't play the song behind it of course! So we ended up having to sing the guitar (duuuh duh duuuh duh duuuh duh duh) while I handled the screams heh heh! We lost the contest of course but we were satisfied! I still have the lyrics!

Can any of you turn a dirty Prince into something kid friendly (like Come, Head, or Sister!)?

I'd love to see it

The folks from Brooklyn play da bass pretty good but the ones from Minneappolis play it like they OUGHTA SHOULD!

I think you could change them to be more kid friendly! after all I change almost everyone of the songs to a more personal female version, "I knew a guy named Nick, I guess you could say he was a sex fiend..." I even got one for raspberry berret!! but I changed Most of the lyrics to be more autobiographical.. I feel like a female Weird Al, but less weird...

Kid friendly? Prince does that enough. Let's not give him any more inspiration.
