Has Prince ever made a mistake on stage /got angry?

No one is perfect, but I've only seen a handful of mistakes jb and michael jackson made on stage..And then thre were a few only peopple who knew ther music wouuld spot.

Whilst this isn't someting to focus on obviously...Has prince or the band ever made mistakes on stage that got him mad or even just laughing it off?

I want stories haha.I just like seeing how they handle the situation and what can go wrong in such a polished, rehearsed setting

He botches lyrics all the time, which is why he has teleprompters all over the stage. And his guitar tosses have a history of going wrong.

What Prince is really bad about is glaring at his band when they screw up. It can look pretty unprofessional.

i can't remember the exact concert, but prince kept asking 4 the lights off.. the lights stayed on & u could hear his demand getting more urgent & angry lol he sounded right shitty like he was about to throw a wobbly. it never got that far tho

& then of course there is sinead o'connor's account of him losing his rag with her, he apparently walloped her & locked her in a room

& i think he's made a few fashion mistakes, especially the white furry boots

At the Celebration Tour in Columbus, on June 21, 2001. John Blackwell was playing a drumbeat while Prince was on the timbales. Everything sounded fine to the audience, but Prince starting banging really hard on the timbales and shaking his head at John to stop playing. They stopped, and went into a beat that sounded like "The Digital Garden."

Not sure what happened, but it clearly wasn't part of the act.

At The Nokia Theater in LA, in March 2009, the sound was terrible. Prince stopped the show after the second song to do a soundcheck on the kick drum. He kept telling the sound guys what to do. He was pissed.

At the 2001 Hit N Run tour in Fairfax, VA the sound was a mess and Prince actually stepped over to the soundboard to make some changes while the band played a long break. It didn’t make the sound any better, but that’s because the Patriot Center has shit acoustics.

Mistake-wise from Prince, about all you're going to get are lyric mistakes. He doesn't miss many notes and when he does, he recovers so fast that it's about impossible to notice.

Same thing with hitting marks. I'd imagine that if you want to find Prince making a mistake onstage, your best chance is looking for a missed mark back when he did elaborate dances with the Game Boys, etc.

The only lyrics mistake that really sticks out to me is him transposing the lyrics to "The Holy River" on "Oprah". But he was so smooth that unless you knew the song, you'd never know it was a mistake.

Angry - Jam of the Year Tour in the Quad Cities. I believe it was a mic issue, went off stage and you could clearly see him chewing someone out.

Mistakes - Jam of the Year Tour in Detroit. Coming down the side ramp he completely wiped out and on his butt he went. Of course he turns it up a notch where he takes your mind off the mistake. Like the Musicology Tour in MPLS where he screwed up the beginning lyrics to When Doves Cry and then proceeded to unbutton his shirt, girls went nuts ... restarted the song.

Or Toni M's rapping period. I didn't think it back then, but the orgers are right, his rapping sucked.

Taylor Dayne was on stage with him at a different German aftershow. The "Who's the fool" was from Netherlands. The famous Small Club 2nd Show That Night.

I would add a couple of obvious ones:

1. With James Brown and Michael Jackson he mistakenly pulled a stage prop off stage when getting down, but his ad lib performance more than makes up for it. It was kind of funny.

2. Lovesexy Dortmund 88 show, missed a line when singing with Miko and Miko caught him out and he pushed Miko out of the spotlight. Miko really should have just backed off and not showed Prince up, but hey its a live show.

3. Sign O The Times - Prince flew under Cat and accidently ripped off her skirt with his teeth lol

New Power Soul shows Atlantic City NJ. Trump Casino. Prince, Larry, Chaka. They played a smaller room and the stage was size for arena they played Madison Square Garden night before. Some amps were moved close to the stage last min cuz the firemarshall had them moved. This created prob with fog machine and the stage was slippery plus it delayed the start of the show. Chaka fell flat on her face but was ok. Larry slipped all over.

Prince sprained his ankle and Cleveland show etc where cancelled. When he slipped he had a look of pain but he soldiered on and played some more songs. P did not fall but slipped. I believe he quit doing the splits after that show. He also played this techno jam version of "the War" with a lot of voice over talking and repeating "theres a war going on in here, theres a war going on in my head"

What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I think it was called the Jam of the year tour, in London.

Aftershow at the Hippodrome and he was seriously pissed off at one of the sound engineers and swapped him out.

I think he said 'one more chance', the guy blew it, so P made him leave.

He had baby blue hair slides in that night and I think I left at about 4.45am lol

yeahthat This could not be any closer to the truth..Hahaha

I mean I expect that, because Prince has wrote literally hundreds of songs, and even his most popular ones are forgettable to him, I am sure.

I was watching Montreux, and when he performed 'Scandalous' he forgot the lyrics BIG time. But he covered it up well..lol..

Instead of saying: "Everybody always told me good things come 2 those who wait, but I got so much on the menu, I just can't..I Just can't...Wait Baby"

He SAID: "Everybody always told me, we...going..to get this thing started..tonight..I got so much on the menu..say it. SCANDALOUS"

Hahaha, Something like that. lol. Scandalous is one of my favorite songs, so I remember the lyrics... but he fixed the lyrics so well, It was hardly noticable. When he messes lyrics up, he fixes them well.smile

He did the same when he performed "Old School Company" on Leno, when the breakdown part came, he forgot it..by just repeating the last part of the lyrics he previously stated.

BUT as with many professionals, when you make a mistake, you can skate over it pretty well. Michael Jackson, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Etc..Prince is no exception..That is what they do for a living, they can fix it when it comes up. smile

In fact when Prince is angry it seems to fuel his creativity..lol. He slaps the bass, or shreds the guitar more bloody! Haha..I like it! LOL.

It's Button Therapy, Baby!

Didn't Prince get angry with the tech guy during the 1987 NYE concert at Paisley Park when the balloons didn't fall down? He ended up releasing them himself and sarcastically saying, "modern technology"!
