I thought it was tacky. To me it always looked dumb. I won't miss it.

All the other guitars are awesome. The Cloud will always be my fav.

Awful thing, I hope he put it in the fire. I do miss the clouds, though.

Sorry to burst your bubble wink, but the guitar is actually or will be or was already on display as part as an African American Art Exhibit.

Electric guitars do not have anything on them that could result in a "synthetic" sound.

It's how they are used with effects that can give an impression of an unnatural sound. Reverb, pitch shifters, flangers, phasers and chorus effects are usually to blame for that. He usually used that guitar during the "big" anthem like songs so he was often using quite a lot of effects as well.

So he won't be playing that guitar anymore, then? He didn't throw it in the fire, but it's history! Gone.

I've never heard a guitar that would have a tone I'd describe as "synthetic". Dull and uninteresting ones, without much of a personality, yes.

The Hohner and the Cloud are my favorite Prince guitars. They are his trademark guitars.

The Symbol one is OK but I don´t like the fact that that thing in the middle is missing. It doesn´t look like the symbol without that bar in the middle, and that makes it look a bit half assed, in my opinion.

And I have lost track of his symbol guitars...I mean, the original Symbol guitar was built by German luthier Jerry Auerswald and was VERY pricey, then Prince suddenly had two golden symbol guitars and a black one during the Ultimate Live Experience/Gold Experience tour, and a year later even a white one, but those weren´t built by Auerswald, were they? And later there was this lawsuit where a luthier from Chicago sued him for stealing the symbol guitar design from him but that did not make any sense to me since it was really Auerswald who came up with it in the first place, didn´t he?

And I never understood the differences between the original Auerswald symbol guitar and the later ones, including the purple one ("Habibi"). I think the original one had more frets, right?

And later he added a whammy bar to it.

I miss the days of Prince just playing the Cloud and the Hohner and nothing else. Can´t stand the look of the Strats or his use of the whammy bar.

The Model C (also made by Auerswald) looked too futuristic and was like a one off guitar during the Nude and Batman phase and it was soon forgotten but he really seems to like his Strats.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Oh, yeah. I've gotten so used to seeing those guitars with him that I don't even notice that aspect anymore. But when he first appeared with one it looked just sort of half-assed. I'm surprised that he kept using them for so long - they seemed more like something he would use just for a few years after the (first) name change.

I remember the first symbol sounded more like the clouds or even a bit like his tele, but that could have been due to the amp choice as well. He's had some pretty boring sounding guitar setups especially on his "big" TV-appearances.

I am going to go with this. There is a reason that Prince has the same pickup configuration on all of his guitars except the Horner and the Sheraton, so he can get the same sound. I seriously doubt that the Symbol came out for anything except the live show. If I never see it again, I am not shedding any tears.
