Didn't see a thread on this, so i thought I'd start one. Anyone have any more info on this one? The sound is, of course, perfect! Apparently this was sourced from T's original VHS tape. I listened to it and Race seems to be the extended version, Interactive segues into Come #2 which is new to my ears. Come, of course segues, into an early version of Endorphinmachine. All of the other songs have been released on Outtakes 93/94 compilation or a number of releases, right?

Not to mention, and MOST IMPORTANTLY this is a vastly superior version of "Gold" that is not overproduced with lead keyboards and synths like the released version.

Indeed sourced from a vhs tape from the 10,000 magazine wallpaper, which was used a few times on the screens at NPG and Glam Slam Minneapolis.

afaik this tape doesn't contain anything new, but the quality is outstanding.

Was this version of "Gold" available before for collecting? I know there were demos circulating before.

i can't believe this has been out for about 2 weeks and no-one has asked about getting the video itself, or what was on it

there's already a glam slam wallpaper video/dvd that's been going about since about 95 but it's not really got any prince music on it, it's all sorts of other stuff like en vogue, but the visuals are interesting with weird "chill out" video stuff mixed with a few bits of prince videos, and 3 or 4 clips of prince as tora tora. so as this has actual prince music i would imagine the video would have some prince clips

This boot is fantastic and i agree: This version of come, and in this quality, is reason enough to dload it!

Hearing Gold in it's uncluttered glory is pretty cool too.

Isn't the footage at the end of the Glam Slam Birthday show in 1994 from a similar tape? It had 'Days of Wild,' 'Get Wild' and 'Billy Jack Bitch' playing over graphics from the 10,000 magazine.

Very strange tracklist. I guess I'm just accustomed to the released version of Come but it is a little odd to hear more upbeat and organic tracks as opposed to the cold and dark tone of the familiar version.

I know it will never happen but a massive box set collecting everything circa 1993 to early 1996 would make for a very interesting listen.

Has a good recording of Race with the full horn arrangement ever been released?
