I pretty much loathe all of those nineties remix b-sides. For the most part they sound horribly dated and trendy. Such a wasted opportunity. Instead of giving us crappy remixes done by outside producers he could have included all new b-sides as he did in the eighties.

How many actual new b-sides did we get in the nineties? Was "Rock and Roll is Alive! (and it Lives in Minneapolis)" the only one?

Agree but the I Hate U maxi single was, in my opinion, one of his last, if not THE last great maxi single he released. The remix with the heavy bassline and added lyrics was a huge improvement over the album version ( though the album version was already quite good), and then you had the instrumental saxophone version by Eric Leeds.

Good song, good remixes.

And the Gett Off maxi single wasn´t too bad, either. It had Violet the Organ Grinder on it.

And Get Some Solo was also a nice extra back then. But yeah, you´re right, all those Silk Hurley remixes sound a bit dated today.

I liked Mark Moore´s The Future remix though.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I like the 1990 Get Off but there is a track Love Left, Love Right isn't there on the same maxi cd??

I can't recall, I haven't listened in ages.... But I think I like both tracks..

Love Left, Love Right is better than Get Off, IIRC....

wink

People really need to read thread titles properly, don't they? smile. I love the track. Never understood why Lubricated Lady was separate though. On and Loveleft, loveright is great too.

Ok, listening 2 it right now..it´s been awhile!!! Are there realy angels..

So excited when I first heard this. I thought this 12" had better music than GB!

Get Off/Lubricated lady/Loveleft,loveright (!!)...a great 3some imo!!

I do prefer Gett Off from D&P but this are 2 different songs with the same title so...

Thieves in the temple extended is better than album version. reminds me of LRC 12" (put your foot on..let me show U...) I don´t like the house mixes but U got 2 understand that house was everywhere here in Europe...The Future remix got more airplay than the original!!

In the nineties, unique non-album songs:

Horny Pony

Rock 'N' Roll Is Alive! (And It Lives In Minneapolis)

'Call The Law' later appeared on 'Gold Nigga' and there were the sample-based recordings, '2 Whom It May Concern' and 'On Sale Now!' The rest were versions (remixes, edits, versions etc) of songs feautured on existing albums, or previously-released B-sides.

Ah, I forgot about "Horny Pony." Well spotted.
