All My Dreams ( perhaps one of the greatest Prince songs) In my opinion All my dreams is by far one of the all time greats! However the mass market has probably never heard it. There are many examples of such Prince songs but give me your Top 3 officially unreleased gems!!

If I was forced at gunpoint to have a Prince top 5, this would be in it along with
Crystal Ball Computer Blue Automatic & When Doves Cry

I don't know how 2 express my feelings for this song
This song is 1 that represents the feeling of "Purple Music Culture" This is Prince's SOUND, not the only 1 but it's Prince music This song is one at the start of a peak of Prince defined music. the 1985/86 era is still the greatest time for Prince and the outtakes and protege music and just the stretch in directions: the Parade music the Family music and Sheila E music the Dream Factory music, the chunk of instrumentals, the Junk Music, just so much and All My Dreams represents

way overrated...there are so many better songs out there, IMO...

I think it's magnificent, but I can see that if someone doesn't like a certain era or strain of Prince's music - then this track is going to embody in a single track everything they hate!

1.Old friends 4 sale (original version) 2.Moonbeam levels 3.Witness 4 the prosecution
I definitely like the cheery 'All my dreams' as well!
Since I like 'Old friends' so much ... it's so frustrating P had'Wally' destroyed, a song which (I assume) conveyed a similar feeling of being let down and being stranded.

Agree Totally and that whole album (July 18 1986) is probably the greatest he has ever recorded, even out stripping sign. All of my dreams is so positive and upbeat and just showed how the Revolution had matured as a unit. Also great is a Place in Heaven, Train, Witness for the prosecution and the sitared version of Strange Relationship. I have a fellow orger to thank for that great album. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

what's the best version of the 86 dream factory right now? Bogey and Bacall, peanut butter and jelly, Wall being on fucking point, is "classic" dipshit. An iphone is top shelf technology. Get it straight. This thing is 4g. -Wall the great

Crucial (Saxaphone Version, Full Length 7:15) Data Bank ('86 version - correct speed 8:20 version) All My Dreams Wonderful Ass (Extended, 9:40 version) Xtralovable ('83 version - NOT the new one)
Thanks!

lol I'm sorry, your post confused me
I thought I misread the topic... What are you actually responding too?

I know it's meant to be one of the greatest, but I've never really rated it. Feels like I'm confessing a cardinal sin by saying that, but I've always felt it to be a bit too whimsical and overrated.
Give me the original Old Friends 4 Sale any day of the week blah blah blah

It's a good song, I like it, but I don't agree with it being one of the greatest.

There are many really good versions.
Imo, the best is the Pimpsandwich version http://main.thedigitalgar...ctory.html Also worthy of note is Sabotage's Dream Factory Remastered http://main.thedigitalgar...tered.html

Its my favorite song he did with The Revolution. A lost masterpiece....That showcased Wendy & Lisa brilliantly. But still kept the genius that created it "intact". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think it would've been perfect on Parade. She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I think it is definitley one of Prince's most whimsical numbers and i find it to be a very good song but I also find it to be quite overrated. I really feel Prince more on songs like "Something in the Water", "Dorothy Parker", & "Pop Life". I find "Crystal Ball" a far more sophisticated piece than "All My Dreams" and more enjoyable. "All My Dreams" really reminds me of "It's a Small World Afterall". "Crystal Ball" is also whimsical but has this Apocalytic Sexuality theme running through it. A darker song yes, but I find that Prince writes really well when he's sardonic and dark. Big Chick

My top three:
1. Computer Blue Hallway Speech Version #1 2. Heaven 3. All My Dreams
It's a damn shame numbers two and three were dropped from Parade, in my opinion. Still a great album, but with those tracks it would be on a whole different level.
