Jill Jones 4 Love (extended) and 4 Lust

Who would have thought that after all these years it´s still possible 2

discover music from the 80´s that I never heard be4!!! Sure, being a Prince fan

it´s possible I missed a few bootlegs or a few songs he has written 4 others.

I bought the Jill Jones album in the 80´s, the singles and loved it!!

Especially For Love, G-spot and Mia Bocca!! Never understood why he didn´t gave these songs 2 Sheila but it turned out very well. Because I had some free time I put 2gether a mp3 CD with stuff

from the beginning until now including my fav songs from the side projects.

And looking around on the World Free Music Web ( I bought all this music at least once or twice over the years) for songs that I don´t have on CD or on my PC...I discover the 12" For Love!!!

I know whenever Prince releases new music and we don´t like it as much as the "old" stuff,we have 2 consider the fact that WE also have changed and listen 2 music in a different way.

Well, I like a lot of his music from 2000-2010 but THIS immediately makes my feet move, shake my head and it feels good!!! This is why I love Prince´s music, the groove, the little details, sounds; the long versions..the great music! Ok, For Love wasn´t really new 2 me, but For Lust is...and allthough I never heard this be4 it brought me in the good Prince mood.

I´m not starting another "back in the days..."thread, I just wanna say that I love what he did with

Jill Jones and I guess there´s no other artist who U will surprise U after all these years!!!

Maybe it's just because Jill sang them that I can't see Sheila singing those songs. Jill is a better singer imo and I always thought of her as the female version of Prince over Sheila. Sheila was always so soft spoken in interviews that it's hard to believe that she really had the freak in her.

She has the freak in her...on the drums!

Jill has a strong voice, I think the Minneapolis sound and her voice go really well together. There is a little 'crazy' in her voice....love it.

True, Jill IS the female Prince. I just wonderd why Prince decided 2 give this or that song 2 wich artist?? I mean, I can hear Sheila doing a bit of the 12", but he made the right decision!

The For Love 12" has always been one of my favourites. I love the subtle way its beefed up on the bass and guitar compared to the album version. Much funkier.

Other gems of the era....

Sheila E - The world is high

Sheila E - Save the people

Jesse Johnson - Free World

Jesse Johson - She I can't resist (remix)

Morris Day - Love sign (Remix)
