Love it.
I remember thinking it was incredibly cool that when he says 22 it hits 22 seconds on the nose. Top 20 of all time by any artist for me! [Edited 3/8/12 15:45pm] "Still Crazy 4 Coco Rock"

Total YEA !
One or the best on Diamonds and Pearls. I know a lot of fans don't like D&P but I definintely do. Live 4 Love, Thunder, Gett Off, Horny Pony, Strollin, Cream, and $ Don't Matter... All stellar compositions IMO. Esp with the amazing Rosie Gaines. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham

One of his best. Love it when he does songs with a strong social conscience, plus it has beautiful melodies and instrumentation. [Edited 3/9/12 21:10pm]

I like the whole D&P album. I always felt it sounds like a Steely Dan song too! Wish he would do more songs like that... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Never thought about it that way but yes...it does! Hey 19 Love4oneanother

I feel the same way. It's an introspective song, tight musically, and I love the nasal/cold (for lack of a better description) vocals. I think he uses a similar sound on "The Word" from 3121. Yea!!!!!
I remember going to buy D&P at the Wreka sto and I remember walking in and hearing the begining of "Money Don't Matter" for the first time......at first i didn't know who it was because i hadn't heard any vocals yet but i knew that I liked it! The opening has such a great smooth and relaxing feel to it.....loved it ever since!

I like the music but the lyrics are unfocused.I don't think too many people really 'got' the message of the song.

This song drives me bonkers because musically it's never resolved. It's a very quirky chord sequence for a pop song. That's prince being cocky and interesting, but ultimately I give it a fail because it doesn't bring me enjoyment, it just makes me crazy. Another nail in the coffin that is Diamonds and Pearls.

This song was the sole reason I purchased that live DVD [Aladdin,Las Vegas]... it was the only song I knew at the time.. I was very disappointed when the performance ended after 20 seconds and went into "The Work". [Edited 3/6/12 15:24pm] I was at a soundcheck and he played it 5 feet away from me...its one of my raves and was in o(+> heaven whips this was goin on....friggin awesome....sounded superb.

Yay all the way. It is one of his best songs and sadly more relevant politically than any of his more recent songs. I agree that I love it when he does songs that are socially conscious. It is sad that he has seemed to veer away from many issues and continues with his repetitive pattern of numbness through religion and objectifying women via the predictable and boring protogee route to feed his male ego.
